Athens – Cradle of democracy

Athens, the cradle of democracy, has been chosen as the location for our EuroAcademy. It was in Athens that Plato established the first university – the Academy - making the city state a very important center of learning in ancient times. The ideas and practices developed here laid the foundation for what we call "Western civilisation". With the 2004 Olympic Games at the latest, Athens has turned into a modern, vibrant city with an increasingly multi-ethnic population - the perfect place for our discussions about the future of Europe.

Our hotel is placed directly at the seaside. Located in the vicinity of one of Greece's most celebrated archeological sites, it captures the essence of Greece, with its views on the brilliant blue of the Aegean sea and sky, the deep green of the pines, and the ochre-colored rocky terrain.

The hotel is about 40 minutes away from Athens' airport and about 70 minutes away from Athens' city center. At the time of the event, we expect a temperature to be between 15 - 25 °C and a water temperature of 15 - 20 °C.
