Jutta Kleinschmidt

A true passion for motor sports

History was made on January 21, 2001, when for the first time in its 23-year history, a woman won the toughest rally in the world: Jutta Kleinschmidt took first place in the Paris-Dakar rally. This success has been the pinnacle (so far) of an extraordinary career.

Jutta Kleinschmidt studied General Physics. After graduating, she decided to pursue a dual career: In addition to her activities in BMW's development department, she started to participate in marathon races - first of all in motorbike races. She left BMW after six years to focus all her attention on motor racing. As a professional driver, Jutta Kleinschmidt has won a host of titles and trophies, including winning the Vice World Cup twice. She has also received many honors and awards, for example "ADAC Motor Racer of the Year" and "ARD Sportswoman of the Year". Her most recent victory was in this year's Paris-Dakar rally, where she and her team came third.

In addition to racing, Jutta Kleinschmidt also works as an instructor for major automotive manufacturers and as a "safe driving" trainer. And as if participating in the Marathon World Cup wasn't enough, she also organizes the "Desert Academy", in which she passes on her experience to a broader audience.
